The OLAS Tag connects automatically when you step upto the helm position, wirelessly linking with the Guardian hub and the vessels engine cut-off system.
By tracking only a single tag at any one time, the system is ideal for everyday use by multiple operators. Each user carries their own tag, with the system automatically connecting and disconnecting as people step on or off the vessel - no setup, pairing, or technical knowledge required. This keeps handovers quick and hassle-free, even in busy working environments.
The system can also be configured to require an OLAS tag before the vessel can be operated, giving the operator immediate confidence that they are protected as soon as they come onboard. If a tag isn’t available, operation can still continue via a simple one-button override, ensuring there’s no disruption to daily work.
The Guardian makes safety simple. Your vessel will only start when your tag is connected, giving you peace of mind. If you ever need to start without your tag, just press the control switch once to override - safe, easy, and completely under your control.

Red means standby.

User-Adjustable Cut-Off Sensitivity
Purpose:
Provides flexibility for different vessel sizes and operating environments. High sensitivity is ideal for smaller vessels where tighter proximity to the helm is expected; low sensitivity allows more freedom of movement on larger vessels without triggering an engine cut-off.
Action:
Set the sensitivity level (Low to High) using the Guardian Pro App (iOS) to define how far the tag can move from the helm before disconnection is triggered.
User-Adjustable Alert Delay and Engine Cut-Off Warning
Purpose:
Gives users control over how quickly the engine stops after a tag disconnects — especially useful on larger vessels where brief disconnections may occur. The audible pre-warning alerts the operator that an engine cut-off is imminent, giving time to respond.
Action:
Using the Guardian Pro App (iOS), set a delay window of 2–10 seconds between tag disconnection and engine cut-off. Within this period, reconnecting the tag or pressing the override button will prevent the engine from stopping.
Setup Time: 30 seconds
Audible Feedback
Purpose:
Deliver assertive confirmation when a tag connects or disconnects, providing audible and tactile reassurance without needing to check a screen or LED.
Action:
When a tag moves into range, the system emits a clear tone to confirm connection and transition from standby to tracking.
Setup Time: Automatic
Operational Freedom
Purpose:
Ensure vessel usability even when the system isn’t actively being used — whether a tag is unavailable or the system isn’t required for a particular operation.
Action:
System remains in standby until a valid tag enters range. Normal vessel operation continues unaffected in the meantime.

Quick emergency override
In an overboard emergency, the system automatically cuts the engine. Any reaminig passangers or crew can restart the engines after a single press of the control switch.

Smart Delay and Pre-Warning
Stay in control even in challenging conditions. The smart delay feature prevents unnecessary engine cut-offs caused by brief tag disconnections - perfect for larger vessels or busy decks. An audible pre-warning lets you know the system is about to activate, giving you time to respond.
Set your preferred delay in the Guardian Pro App (2–10 seconds). If the tag reconnects or you press the override button during this window, the engine keeps running smoothly - no interruptions, just smarter safety.
