The OLAS Multi Engine Connector (MEC) is a hard-wired expansion interface designed to allow a single OLAS Guardian or OLAS N2K engine shut-off output to control up to three independent kill switch circuits simultaneously. It is specifically developed for outboard engine installations where multiple engines must be stopped at the same time from one safety system.

Rather than replacing existing kill switch wiring, the MEC physically splits the single engine stop output from the OLAS system into three separate paired outputs. This allows each outboard engine to retain its own dedicated kill circuit while still being controlled from one central OLAS trigger.

In the event of a man overboard (MOB) incident, when a designated OLAS tag disconnects from the system, the OLAS Guardian or N2K unit activates the MEC, which immediately closes all connected kill circuits. This ensures all engines are shut down simultaneously, preventing the vessel from continuing under power.

The system is designed as a clean, reliable integration method for multi-outboard setups where synchronised engine shutdown is critical for safety response.
