The OLAS tag is a compact OLAS transmitter, easily attached to adults, children, pets and objects such as overboard floatation devices. The tags are tracked by the OLAS application on a mobile device or via the Core, Guardian and Extender.
Seconds after the tag breaks connection with an OLAS receiver the crew are alerted by the OLAS alarm and light, whilst the OLAS MOB rescue screen are activated on the OLAS mobile application.
Each tag is supplied with a universal silicone wrist strap with stainless steel buckle and a pre-installed CR2477 Battery (user replaceable). The OLAS Tag can be switched ON and OFF to preserve battery life. If ON continuously battery life is up to 90 days.

How it works
Each OLAS Tag communicates continuously with the onboard OLAS system. If the tag is separated from the vessel for more than a few seconds—typically due to a fall overboard—the connection is lost and an alarm is triggered.
Depending on the system it’s paired with, this can result in:
- Immediate onboard MOB alarm
- Engine shutdown when used with OLAS Guardian or compatible systems
- MOB position logging via the OLAS mobile app
It works automatically in the background, with no buttons or activation required once it’s paired.

Lightweight, wearable design
The OLAS Tag is designed to be worn all day without getting in the way. It’s small, waterproof, and can be clipped onto standard safety equipment.
Typical mounting options include:
- Wrist strap
- Lifejacket attachment point
- Clothing or belt clip
It’s built to stay out of the way while still being reliable in a real man overboard situation.
Directly Track OLAS Transmitters with Your Phone - No Extra Hardware Needed!
The OLAS app is available for free on both iOS and Android devices, allowing you to effortlessly monitor up to 4 OLAS transmitters. Ideal for vessels up to 30 feet long, this is a cost-effective solution for swift self-recovery, perfect for solo or small crew bluewater sailing adventures.
Integration with OLAS systems
OLAS Tags work across the OLAS ecosystem and can be used with multiple onboard devices, including:
OLAS Guardian (engine kill switch systems)
OLAS N2K (NMEA 2000 integration systems)
OLAS mobile app (MOB tracking and GPS logging)
Depending on the setup, each tag can be assigned a role such as engine trigger, alarm-only device, or monitoring tag.
Free to move whilst staying safe
Pair OLAS Transmitters with Guardian or N2K engine stop systems to serve as wireless kill cords. This ensures powerboat and RIB drivers can instantly stop their vessel if the skipper or crew become separated, preventing accidents from unmanned, uncontrolled boats. It's an essential safety solution for solo helmed motor vessels and fishing boats, providing freedom of movement around the vessel during operation.

Portable Overboard Alarm System
Pair OLAS transmitters with the OLAS Core, a portable 5V overboard alarm system that can track up to 25 transmitters on vessels up to 50 feet long. This system is indispensable for users boarding vessels without installed overboard alarm systems, such as charter trips or short-handed vessel deliveries.

Why choose the OLAS Tag?
OLAS Tag is designed to take the human delay out of a man overboard situation. There’s nothing to switch on or activate - once it’s worn and paired, it simply monitors your position in the background.
If someone goes overboard, it triggers the system immediately, helping reduce the time between the incident and the response. That difference is critical at sea.
For crews, skippers, and families on board, it’s an easy way to add an extra layer of protection without changing how you use the boat.
